The Gallery at Queen’s Park

A Hub for the Arts
In 2015, celebrating The Gallery’s 30th anniversary, the space was reconfigured to primarily focus on displaying visual 2D and 3D art and facilitate arts events for emerging and established local artists. The space has shifted away from being the office of the Arts Council of New Westminster to serve as a hub for the arts in the city; it’s a flexible space to host art, artists and community members for showings, workshops and special events.

The Arts Council of New Westminster continues to operate The Gallery at Queen’s Park on behalf of all citizens of New Westminster. The Gallery is open year round to the public and presents 11 exhibitions per year.

Displaying Your Art
To exhibit, you must be a current member of The Arts Council of New Westminster at the time of your exhibition. The Council does not charge for exhibiting, nor does it pay an artist to exhibit. The Arts Council of New Westminster appreciates a donation on sales of work in the exhibition, for which a tax receipt is issued.

Work must be suitably framed, ready for hanging, or, if three-dimensional, appropriately mounted or otherwise ready for presentation. The Gallery features a total linear hanging space of about 15 m (49.5 ft).

For instructions on how to apply for an Exhibition, click here. Artists whose work has already been exhibited in the Gallery are invited to re-apply, allowing a 3-year interim between applications. PLEASE NOTE:  Proposed exhibition submissions must not have been showcased in New Westminster in the preceding 12 months, nor (upon acceptance) be displayed in any other New Westminster gallery during the exhibiting year.
