The Vancouver Chamber Music Society in collaboration with the Anvil Centre will present Amit Peled on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 3:00PM at the Anvil Centre. This performance marks Amit Peled’s debut performance in Western Canada. The Israeli-American cellist is one of the most exciting and virtuosic instrumentalists on the concert stage today. Musical America named Peled one of the Top 30 influences of 2015. Peled performs on a cello made by the Italian master Giovanni Grancino, ca. 1695. Peled will be joined by pianist, Noreen Polera. Polera is well known for her mastery and affection for the complete standard cello-piano repertory. She ranks among the most highly regarded and diverse chamber artists performing today. The famously rich sonority of Amit Peled combined with Noreen Polera’s mastery of cello-piano repertoire is a match made in heaven!

Amit Peled and Noreen Polera’s Cellobration program will take listeners on a journey through time with music written for predecessors for the cello and piano into the 20th century from Bach to Brahms, Chopin, and beyond.The program will also include Joachim Stutschewsky’s Hassidic Suite – an ode to Peled’s Jewish heritage.
