STARLIGHT CASINO DONATES
TO THE ARTS COUNCIL of NEW WESTMINSTER

(New Westminster, BC, June 09, 2010) Starlight Casino has generously donated over $2,700 to the Arts Council of New Westminster (ACNW).

The Arts Council of New Westminster provides scholarships to students at New Westminster Secondary School and Douglas College, operates an Art Gallery in Queens Park, and works with local schools on programs to ensure art enrichment opportunities for students.

“It is an honour to be able to support the city and the citizens of New Westminster” said Tim Barnett, Executive General Manager. “Programs such as the Arts Council benefit from our Found Monies program, which is funded with unclaimed slot tickets, and coins retrieved from fountains. The accumulation of these funds affords us the ability to give back to the community”, he added.

A check presentation was held on June 10, 2010.  At that time, Tim Barnett of Starlight Casino was pleased to grant the $2,717.12 check to ACNW President, Susan Wandell and Director, Paul R. Thompson.

Mr. Thompson commented, “We are extremely grateful for the generous contribution Starlight Casino has made towards our efforts to promote the arts in the City of New Westminster”.  “Such contributions allow us to expand our Literary, Performing and Visual Arts programs, as well as fund the new endeavors we have planned”, he stated.
